I've been meaning to do this for a long time, and boy howdy is it long!!!  It's organized into a few different categories. I'll update as needed.  This may be repetitive to some, illuminating to others, and completely boring and useless to others still.

Animation Job FAQ
Q:  How can I get a job in animation?
The absolute best thing you can do to get into animation as a career is to go to art school.  Not only will you learn how to draw and how to SEE, you will meet people, students and teachers alike, who will give you new perspectives and will likely be the sources of your future jobs.  (My first job came from one of my teachers.)
There are several schools that have fantastic animation programs that cover all facets of the atr form.  Schools like the one I attended, CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE OF THE ARTS, will teach you animation (2D and 3D,) character design, storyboarding, bac

PROTIPs about Perspective for Beginners
this is copypasta from my tumblr blog that I posted some of my practice sketches about perspective. I think this is very good info to keep in mind, and is a good start for people who are new or don't get a grasp of perspective.
I will probably use this info in a future tutorial with better illustrations, but for now I'll just post it as a journal:
First and probably the MOST IMPORTANT thing to know: EYE-LEVEL!
The horizon line represents not only the actual horizon on the picture, but also the EYE-LEVEL of the "camera". Think of drawing a perspective background as if you were holding a camera. I shit you not, if you always keep this in mind, drawing perspectives will be a lot easier.

On the psychology and choosing of names
Brought to you by Super Editor
Many authors struggle with names. After coming up with a character who perfectly fits his or her intended role, planning personality traits, clothing, hobbies, and physical descriptions, now you have to sum all of that character's being up in a name!
There is an incredible number of ways to choose a name. Often authors are baffled by the vast array of first names and surnames that could be given to a character, and it's almost impossible to start. Whether you're hoping for a name that could belong to any girl on a street or a fantasy warrior from planet Xyla, there are infinite ways of choosing a name.
Ordinary Names
The best way to find ordinary names is a list. Sometimes one might choose a name that actually means something, while other times one might hope for an ordinary name with little more meaning than "her mom liked it."
